Happy New Year Friends!
If you watched Good Day today, Jenn Fred talked about how eating right is 70% of the battle when trying to lose weight. Losing weight is one of the most popular New Year's Resolutions. Over the holiday's I was with the awesome women in my family and we were talking about shedding pounds. Most of them are trying to get in shape for my big day in June, so that we can ALL look our best. Check out these foods that help prevent you from gaining weight!
Here's my take:
Fiber, Fiber, Fiber is the key. Research shows by increasing your fiber intake you can prevent weight gain. These 7 foods are rich in fiber and can do the weight loss for you!
First up---Apples. Now when we were little, parents would always say "An apple a day, keeps the doctor away." Guess what...it's true! Apples contain about 4-5 grams of fiber as well as vitamin C and potassium. Thus keeping you out of the Doctor's office!
Next my personal favorite--Green Beans! I love, love, love some fresh steamed green beans with fresh garlic, sea salt, pepper, and olive oil (YUM)! There's about 4 grams of fiber in a cup of green beans.
Another favorite of mine---Sweet Potatoes! They are loaded with fiber, potassium, vitamin E, iron and the list goes on. Along with sweet potatoes is cooked pumpkin. Pumpkin has about 3 grams of fiber and it's a great source for vitamin A, C, and E!
Can't forget your berries---Raspberries and Strawberries are both great sources of fiber and tasty snacks. You can get about 8 grams of fiber in a cup of raspberries and 3 grams in a cup of strawberries. They are both great at keeping our skin healthy too.
Lastly, Chickpeas...hummus anyone? In just 3/4 a cup you get 8 grams of fiber! I love to eat these on a salad too :)
