On Monday officials held a groundbreaking ceremony for a turnaround at the intersection of SH 45 and RM 1826. The turnaround will allow motorists to bypass the congestion at the RM 1826 intersection.

TxDOT Opens Section of RM 1431

The Texas Department of Transportation opened a new portion of RM 1431 West of Cedar Park on Tuesday morning. The expansion is nearly two miles from West of Trails End Road to East of Vista Oaks Boulevard.

Handicap Parking Abuse Widespread

A study by the Travis County Constable’s Office found that 65% of those who used handicap parking placards to park in the downtown area were actually using somebody else’s so they could park for free. The study revealed other abuses such as parking in handicap spaces without placards or having the placards and not being handicapped.

TxDOT Fights College DWI Offenses

The Texas Department of Transportation is starting an effort to prevent campus DWI offenses and remind students to designate a sober driver. The new campaign will post safe driving videos online. Students who appear in the videos can win prizes.
