The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Maytag announced a voluntary recall certain side by side refrigerators and top refrigerators. Approxiamately 1.6 million units are affected under this recall, which was prompted 41 reports of an electrical failure in the relay, 16 of the reports included property damage.

Broadcasting School Closes Its Doors

A private Connecticut-based broadcasting school with campuses in more than a dozen cities including Austin, has abruptly shut down this week and said Thursday it will seek bankruptcy protection. The Connecticut School of Broadcasting blamed its financial woes on a tightening of the private student loan market. Tuition for 16-week courses is as much as $12,000.
