Austin, TX - The 8th named storm has formed over the Western Gulf. Tropical Storm Hermine is heading for Texas and will produce potentially flooding rains.
The track puts the remnants of Hermine west of the area during the day on Tuesday putting us in a prime spot for heavy rain
We are under a Flash Flood Watch until noon on Wednesday.
With on and off heavy rain Tuesday through Wednesday, totals could reach 2 to 4 inches with isolated areas getting 4 to 6 inches.
Most of the time, when we get a fizzling tropical system just to our west, we should expect flooding rains. Not only will it be soggy, but it will also be much cooler with highs in the low to mid 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some leftover showers on Thursday and then drying out and heating up for the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 90s.
