Several oil workers trapped on an oil rig by rising waters just outside of Lexington have been rescued.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office told FOX 7 that all of the oil workers are safe, and that no one was hurt. Travis County Starflight was brought in to lift the workers from the oil rig.
The workers were trapped on an oil rig located off of FM 1624, near Yegua Creek. The Sheriff’s Office says the men were caught off guard when Yegua Creek began to flood and overflow onto the nearby banks.
Stay tuned to FOX 7 for more information as we get it.
