Investigators said on Monday that they had responded to several disturbance calls in the area where a fatal shooting took place Sunday morning.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday investigators say Austin Police responded to a loud noise call at Whisper Woods Apartments off of Wonsley Drive. When they arrived, they say a birthday party in the courtyard.

The residents told police the party would be over by midnight.

Police say they received another disturbance call in the area but were unable to find anything.

At 1:30 a.m. they received another call of shots fired at the apartment complex. They found 29-year-old Franklin Espinales shot. He was sent to UMC Brackenridge where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for the following suspect:

Black male
Late 30's to early 40's
Short hair or bald
5'5 to 5'7
200-220 lbs
Gold front teeth

’We believe the subject walked up to this party, we do not know that there was any connection with people at the party,’ said APD Sgt Scott Ehlert of the Homicide Unit. ’So ya know just common sense be aware of your surroundings I don't know if there was much to be done to prevent it."

Police say Espinales was a resident at the apartments.

A memorial was set up in the courtyard in memory of him.

Investigators say the victim did not know the suspect. The two were seen arguing before the shooting.

Witnesses said that they saw a large, white, older looking car speed off after the incident.

FOX 7 spoke to a man who lived at the apartment and said he saw the entire incident. He says he saw Espinales shot in the head. He told FOX 7 that Espinales was from Nicaragua and had lived here for three years.

Anybody with information on the shooting is asked to call police.
