A lager number of lost pets were brought to the Austin Animal Center after the rain storm on Wednesday.
Over 30 dogs and five cats were found and turned into the animal shelter with no identification.
The shelter says many of the pets found were well groomed and healthy. They believe the dogs got scared and ran away due to the thundering and lighting.
The center will offer free identification tags, collars and HomeAgain microchips to all pet owners who reclaim their lost pets.
