Austin, TX - Former Austin Police officer Lenny Quintana wants to get his job back. There's an arbitration hearing happening Thursday.
Quintana was suspended indefinitely after he was arrested in Leander on suspicion of driving drunk.
At the time of the arrest, he was on administrative leave following the officer-related shootings of Nathaniel Sanders shooting.
According to statements made by Quintana on January 11 of this year, he went to a sushi restaurant in South Austin and then a strip club. Through the night he said he had "more than five, but less than 10, drinks." Knowing he had been drinking, he asked a friend to take him home to Leander.
According to the internal affairs investigation, Quintana changed his mind and tried to drive home with a female officer. He was arrested when he crashed his vehicle. His blood alcohol level was estimated to be .192.
Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo is scheduled to testify at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Quintana has not yet been convicted of the DWI charge. His trial is set for November.
