Fmr. Westlake Football Player Dies in Crash

myFOXaustin - UT's kicker is dedicating today's game to Kendrick Cutsinger a former Westlake and West Texas A&M football player who died in a car crash yesterday.

20-year-old Cutsinger was driving an F-350 truck in Llano county yesterday afternoon when he tried to make a turn and flipped. The sophomore business major and the Buff’s junior tight end was killed in the crash.

In a statement, West Texas A&M President Dr. Patrick O’Brien said, "As a University, we are deeply saddened by the loss of Kendrick Cutsinger and want to express our heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones, said WTAMU President Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien. His leadership on the field and in the classroom will be missed.

The injuries to Julio Rada-Moya are significant, O’Brien continued. We will keep him in our prayers. Rada-Moya is an international student from Venezuela, and we will continue to work with him and his family to ensure that his recovery and recuperation are surrounded by the love and support of the University community.

Both of these young men chose West Texas A&M University as the place to continue their education and explore their futures. We take our responsibility to nurture and protect our students seriously, and it hurts us deeply when we experience such unexpected loss and sadness as this.’

Rada-Moya was a soccer player for the school was critically injured in the crash as well and is being treated at UMC Brackenridge. He was an international student from Venezuela.

Both Rada-Moya and Cutsinger were not wearing seat belts.
