A black Chevy Surburban was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 71 and attempted to turn left on Thornberry Road. The Chrysler sedan ran the red light at Thornberry crashing into the passenger side of the surburban.
The driver and passenger, 70-year-old Phillip Ontiveros, of the suburban were transported to UMC Brackenridge where he later died and the driver was also taken to the hospital where she is listed in the intensive care unit.
