AISD Holds Black History Program

On Friday the Austin Independent School District celebrated Black History Month with an African American History Program at Bedichek Middle School. At the event students listened to former Indianapolis Colt Albert Bimper and actor Randy Tripling from the movie October Sky.

"Those before me left a legacy and I think it's a responsibility of my own to take hold of that and do what I can to give back,” said Bimper, who is also a UT doctoral student. “I think there is a lot of things in the black community and all communities that we need those type of models these days. So black history month to me means being that model."
