Austin, TX (myFOXaustin.com) - Black Friday sales, deals, and steals are here. But some shoppers will tell you, they've already cashed in before the crowds. They hit the stores Thanksgiving Day.
Stores like Old Navy, Wal-Mart and Sports Authority, just to name a few, opened their doors a day early. Their customers filed in throughout the holiday, banking on the best deals out there.
"We tested a few stores last year, throughout the U.S., and it worked pretty well. Our customers loved it. It gave them a little more time to shop, come in and get some great deals," said Greg Masek, District Manager of Old Navy.
"It gives the customer a jump in the holidays, so they don't have to deal with that rush at five in the morning," said Alex Cilauro, Manager of Sports Authority.
As for those who worked on Thanksgiving Day, many of them tell FOX 7 they're thankful for the job.
