Emmis Austin Radio has announced a plan of action that will improve relationships and communication with the Hispanic community after one of their shows was canceled due to ethnic slurs being used by on-air talent. All on-air personalities, producers and station management will undergo mandatory diversity training. .

Emmis also announced that "The Todd and Don Show" will return to the KLBJ-AM airwaves on December 7, 2009, with a transformed perspective on community history, expectations and cultural sensitivity. The "Todd & Don Show" was canceled in July following hundreds of complaints after the show's hosts used an ethnic slur on air.

Hispanic leaders were updated on Emmis Austin Radios progress in these areas so far, and were assured by Emmis that efforts to better serve the entire Austin community would be ongoing.

All six Austin radio stations owned and operated by Emmis will undergo the training.
