On Tuesday night Fort Hood began to start looking more normal after the shootings as 300 soldiers returned from deployment to Iraq.
On Wednesday, two soldiers that were on the base for the attack spoke with the media for the first time since the shooting.
"I can't really say that the perpetrator of this was really one of our own,” 1 st Sergeant James McLeaod said. “Soldiers do not do this to each other. So this is something a little bit different."
"Taking cover, that’s the first, that’s a soldier task right there,” said Specialist Gary Cole. “You kick in your battle drills, things you've been taught to do. After the shooting ended, I was there to provide First Aid and CPR to those who were wounded.”
