Crash Leads to Death Threats, Car Chase

Pflugerville Police have charged Jacobe George with assault after they say he threatened to kill several people following a traffic accident in downtown Austin. According to police, he also chased the car all the way to Pflugerville after making the threats.

Early Saturday morning a Pflugerville police officer pulled over a car for driving without headlights and running a stop sign. The police dispatcher then notified the officer that the vehicle matched the description of a car that had followed another driver while displaying a handgun.

According to court paperwork, the officer placed the driver of the vehicle, George, in the back of the patrol car when another vehicle with four people inside pulled up to the traffic stop.

Police say the individuals in the car claimed to have been in an accident near 7 th Street and I-35 in downtown Austin. According to the witnesses, after the accident George pulled a gun from his trunk and threatened to kill them.

The witnesses fled the scene in their car head north on I-35 and tell police that George followed them all the way to Pflugervile.

During the chase, the witnesses said George pulled up along side them at an intersection and again brandished the weapon. All four people told police they wished to press charges.

Police searched the vehicle and found 9mm shell casings but did not locate a gun.
