Austin, TX - Amy's Ice Creams is celebrating 25 years in Austin by offering a free small scoop of ice cream at all Austin locations, except at ABIA.
According to a press release, Amy's Ice Creams first opened 25 years ago on Guadalupe.
"We wrote a hot check in 1984 to open our doors and look at us today," said Amy Simmons, founder of Amy's in the release. "We have 13 stores in Austin, Houston and San Antonio and with more coming soon."
Customers love to watch scoopers toss, smash and pulverize different mix-in ingredients into the ice cream.
Simmons has been written up in the Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Forbes, People, Texas Monthly and various other publications not only for her business savvy but also for her community work.
The free ice cream will be offered Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at all locations. Amy's has locations on Sixth Street, South Congress, Burnet, in the Arboretum, in South Park Meadows, in Westlake, at the airport, and at Hwy 183 and Lake Creek Parkway. This year, Amy's opened it's latest store at the Hill Country Galleria.
