Head-on Collision Kills 1 in Hays Co.

Sheriff's officials say a woman died after a head-on collision Friday morning in Hays County.

The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Hwy. 21 near Niederwald between High Rd. and Rhode Rd. This is in the Mustang Ridge area.

Deputies say the woman was driving her Kia car on Hwy. 21. She attempted to pass another vehicle on a two-lane highway and crashed head-on into an 18-wheeler truck.

Officials say the woman died at the scene.

Officers closed Hwy. 21 to work on the wreck.
