A pro-life vigil is underway at two Austin health clinics for women.
Organizers with the "40-days of life" event say about 300 people have signed up to take part in the vigil. Between now and November 1, volunteers will stand in front of a clinic along I-35 south and at another clinic on Anderson Mill Road.
Officials with Planned Parenthood say they will send staff members to the clinics if any help with security is needed.
"Our focus is on, making sure, there are a number of reasons why clients are coming to clinics, cervical cancer screening, or they may be coming in to get some kind of contraception, so there are a number of reasons why clients are coming in and we want to make sure the clients feel comfortable and feel safe and protect coming in to get that health care," said Sarah Wheat with Planned Parenthood.
Each day the vigil will start at 7 in the morning until 7 at night.
