AUTSIN - Joe the Plumber, who gained his fame from the recent presidential election, was in Austin July 3rd. He was here speaking at the Tea Party Patriots Independence Day Rally.

The rally took place at Zilker Park at 10am where Joe was demanding that the federal government curb spending, reduce taxes, and adhere to the U.S. constitution.

On July 4th, Texas Sen. John Cornyn will be the headline speaker at the Take Back America Tea Party. He will be joined with the national, local, and grassroots leaders in taking a stand against wasteful spending and unprecedented government growth in Washington D.C.

"Sen. Cornyn is a strong conservative voice in Washington, D.C. and we appreciate the leadership he's shown in fighting the agenda of his tax-and-spend colleagues in the Senate," AFP-Texas director Peggy Venable said. "We encourage everyone in Central Texas who cares about the direction this country is headed and wants to make a difference to come to the Take Back America Tea Party on July 4."

The event will occur on the South Steps of Texas State Capitol from 2pm to 4pm on July 4th.
