myFOXaustin (AUSTIN) - As of Friday, June 12, KTBC-FOX 7 and all TV stations have gone digital. With the analog signals now off, we have heard from some viewers who can't see us. If you have got friends, family or neighbors who aren't picking us up, we've got a re-scan process you can tell them about.
As part of our long term plan to serve the viewer better, we are in the process of upgrading our digital antenna to become one of the strongest signals in the country. We are operating for the short term on reduced power until the installation of our new digital antenna is installed.
Even if they've already rescanned after 12:30 Friday afternoon, here's four quick steps that have worked for other viewers:
1. Disconnect the antenna from your converter box or digital-ready TV
2. Rescan the converter box or TV set
3. Reconnect the antenna
4. Rescan one more time
If that still doesn't work, your TV temporarily may not be able to pick up our signal.
We'll be back up to full power in 2-3 weeks. Check in at our website for progress updates. And rescan every few days until our full power signal is restored.
