myfoxaustin (AUSTIN) - A woman shot and killed her live-in boyfriend before turning the gun on herself, neighbors told FOX 7 News Sunday.

The double shooting happened in the early morning hours Saturday in the 6900 block of RR 1431 near Kingsdale. A neighbor discovered the two bodies dead in the front yard their trailer home. Investigators found her one year old baby girl inside the trailer home alone and unharmed.

"One of my neighbors said she might have heard some guns shots," said next-door neighbor John Watts. "I'm still kind of not over it. I'm still kind of shocked by it. Nobody expected it, totally unbelievable. It's just really really sad."

The neighbor who first discovered the bodies and called police did not want to be on camera. But he told FOX 7 News the woman had a gunshot wound to her face. He said a pistol was at her feet. The man was lying face down and had at least two gunshots to the back. He said the man's car was still running with the door wide open.

"It's senseless," said landlord Malcolm Long whose known the male victim for nearly 8 years. He said, minutes before the shooting, the man told him he was in a fight with his live-in girlfriend.

"We're talking about everything," said Long. "He said a few things he shouldn't have, and I said well go over there and apologize. See if you can work it out."

Long believes minutes later the man was shot and killed. The man, whose name has not been released by Llano County investigators, owned the Rock and Roll tire shop in Kingsland. Sunday , the business was closed and had crime scene tape at the front entrance.

"He was a good hard working man," said Long. "Trying to make a living. And they were going to get married, and he was going to take that girl and raise her. It wasn't his. He was going to raise her. He loved the that little ol' kid."

Investigators are waiting for an autopsy to be performed before they release the cause of death. The one year old girl is in the care of family members.
