Gang Member Arrested for Initiation

Austin Police have arrested, Izaiah Daniel Dela-Rosa, 19, for soliciting or inducing gang membership to student at Lamar Middle School. Dela-Rosa was caught on video assaulting a Lamar student as part of a gang initiation.

According to an arrest affidavit, officers responding to the assault where told that the fight was part of an initiation into a gang called the North Side Crips.  A school resource officer at Lamar Middle School, was able to get information about the assault and locate a video taken of the attack.  Two of the three suspects were juveniles, but one was an adult. 

Dela-Rosa was identified by investigators and had admitted to another officer that he was a North Side Crip gang member. He is being charged with coercion, solicitiation and inducing gang membership, which is a 3rd degree felony.
