Man Arrested for Violent Attack

myFOXaustin (AUSTIN) - Austin Police have charged 26-year-old Seth Tatum for a violent attack on a roommate in South Austin. According to an arrest affidavit, Tatum attacked the vicitm while he was in the bathroom with a piece of metal, striking him in the head several times.

During the course of the attack Tatum told the victim that he was going to kill him, and then continued the assault with a pair of loppers. The victim sufferred numerous lacerations and cuts on the hands and head, including a fractured skull.

Seth Tatum was recently released from prison in November on charges of burglary of a habitation and robbery, both of which occurred in Travis County.

Investigators are also questioning Tatum in connection with Thursday's murder in South Austin.
