Police say 25 year old Michael Anderson Jarvis was half-naked when he assaulted a security guard at the Hilton hotel early Thursday morning.
FOX 7's Crystal Cotti reports from downtown Austin with the bizarre details. The arrest warrant says Jarvis took off his pants and shirt and was trying to play the hotel piano with another band member, when security guards tried to stop him.
Michael Anderson Jarvis is the lead singer for the pop rock band Iglu and Hartly.
They're in town for South by Southwest and were scheduled to play at the Blind Pig Thursday afternoon, it's not clear if they made the show.
An arrest warrant says around 2 a.m. Thursday, Jarvis and band member Samuel Martin were running around the 6th floor of the Hilton hotel, taking off their clothes and trying to play the hotel piano.
Security guards intervened and asked the two band members to put their clothes back on. Jarvis refused and at some point rushed one of the security guards and punched him in the face several times.
Jarvis is charged with assault on a public servant, that's a third degree felony. The band is scheduled to be back in Austin Saturday night for a SXSW showcase at Vice.
