Austin, TX - Austin Police say a man was shot during an attempted carjacking Tuesday morning in Southeast Travis County near FM 1327 and Bradshaw Road.
Officers say they received a call shortly after 6 a.m. alerting them to the situation. When they got on scene they found the victim lying down in front of his truck.
Police say the the man had a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to Brackenridge Hospital where he underwent an operation.
The victim is a white male in his 40s, and is expected to survive. Police say his injuries are non-life threatening.
Investigators say the suspects tried to take a Red Wing Shoes box truck. Police say that two male suspects fled the scene of the carjacking and they believe that the incident may have started at another location.
