SXSW: Austin Music Awards

myFOXaustin(AUSTIN) - Instead of kicking off South by Southwest this year the Austin Music Awards is closing out the festival.

Bob Schneider needs a long set list of acceptance speeches tonight. This year, he was given four of the top awards including best musician, best band, best album for lovely creatures, and best song for "40 Dogs like Romeo and Juliet."

Some of this year’s other winners were: "Speak" won best new Austin band; "Black Joe Lewis and the Honey Bears" won best blues band; and Sarah Jarosz got the nod in the country/bluegrass category.

All the winners were picked by readers of the Austin Chronicle.
