Austin, TX - There's a new production in town that could get you doing some of the acrobatics seen in Cirqu Du Soleil.

Sky Candy is a group of people, mostly from other cities, who do aerial arts -- a cross between acrobatics and sky dancing.

"At large, people can really recognize the aerial art form from the success of Cirque du Soleil, which has been a successful international circus event," said Jessica Ryan with The Vortex.

Sky Candy doesn't' just have a show. They also show people how to do this stuff.

The teachers are professionals. They say there's a class for people of all skill levels, including beginners.

And if you're in the class, you could end up in one of their shows.

"Although we started only four weeks ago, we've been having great turnouts," Ryan said. "We've been extending our classes and training opportunities and our instructors are performing at events."

Sunday evening there's a free Circus 4 The People performance at The Vortex Theatre. It's located in East Austin on Manor Road.

The show starts at 7:30 and is free, but they  have a suggested donation of $10 to $30. Much of that goes to the artists.
