Between Friends Consignment Sale

AUSTIN - Clothing costs can be especially high when children are growing out of clothes as quickly as parents can buy them. The Just Between Friends consignment sale in Round Rock is helping parents get big savings on gently-used clothing. FOX 7's Lauren Petrowski find out how you can buy clothes for cheap or even sell your child's clothes.

Melanie Ellis says her 16-month-old son, Leo, is constantly growing, so buying baby clothes at full price just doesn't make sense to her.

"He's growing inches every few months, so his shoes are changing out, and you can get shoes here for $6, as opposed to $30," says Ellis.

She's shopping for bargains at the "Just Between Friends" consignment sale in Round Rock, where new and gently used kids' items are bought and sold.

"It's just all about helping moms help other moms to first of all make money, so consign, and also moms get such great deals on name brand stuff," says local Round Rock JBF Sale co-owner Linda Sandefur.

Through Saturday, Sweet Home Baptist Church in Round Rock is full of kids and maternity clothing, tables stacked with toys and books and baby furniture in great condition. Consignors are encouraged to sell their items for 1/3 to 1/4 of the original retail price. They get to keep 65% of what they sell.

"We get a lot of really new stuff with tags on them still. We try to get just gently used items, like new items," says Sandefur.

Brandy Rodriguez is a mom of two and also runs a day care center. She's here buying toys and other baby items for her classrooms.

"The biggest deal always is the books because they're really inexpensive, but really good quality."

Quality at low cost is what many familes are looking for these days.

"It's especially I think good right now, with this economy."
